Patio Plants is located on the outskirts of Sydney near Camden. The family business was established in 1998, when Neil and Carmen Duncan extended to grow organic seedlings for commercial growers’, and supply home gardeners at various weekend grower markets extending from the Central Coast, Southern Highlands, Blue Mountains, Sydney Basin and the South Coast.
Carmen Duncan
Carmen was born into the industry with strong involvement in the family farm, supplying fresh produce to Flemington Markets, Sydney, and later, seedlings for commercial growers. After completing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Horticulture, Carmen worked with growers in NSW, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia, and was responsible for the co-ordination and supply of lettuce for the McDonald’s chain stores situated on the Eastern board of Australia and South East Asia.Carmen returned to the seedling nursery and together with husband Neil, raised three children, following the establishment Patio Plants.
Neil Duncan
An outdoor enthusiast, Neil’s passion for horticulture commenced from childhood working at the local stone fruit orchard and market garden. After completing a Degree in Science Biology, Neil worked in a DNA analytical laboratory, analyzing patients DNA for organ transplants. He then worked at Carmen’s family’s seedling nursery, developing his agronomic knowledge in all areas of production. Neil travelled to vegetable growers in NSW, Victoria, and Queensland to assist with implementing high-speed vegetable automatic transplanting systems. Neil then joined Carmen to expand Patio Plants.

Both Neil and Carmen are passionate about growing the best seedlings, potted herbs and vegetables for commercial growers, retailers and the home gardener.They both enjoy farm life, working with thousands of seedlings, which need constant attention.
Both Neil and Carmen enjoy connecting with people and sharing their knowledge and industry professionalism. We enjoy taking our plants from the farm and delivering them to our customers, and meeting enthusiastic home gardeners. Furthermore we enjoy the positive growing experiences our customers have and hearing about their abundant fruitful harvest.
